Convictions

We live for God’s Glory because we are convinced…

  • that God exists, three persons, one God.

  • that God created time, the universe and every living thing.

  • that God is perfectly holy, just, wise and powerful, unlimited by time and the physical dimensions of our universe.

  • that God created humanity for relationship with Himself and placed in us an expression of Himself.

  • that love is defined in God, and is given and received in the context of relationship.

  • that humanity has been given the capacity to respond to God in an expression of love.

  • that with this capacity also comes the choice to reject Him and live in disobedience.

  • that when we choose disobedience, which we all do, death is all we deserve.

  • that Jesus Christ, God the Son, was born a human being, lived a life of perfect obedience to the Father's will and died on a cross.

  • that by dying, Jesus took the punishment we, because of our disobedience, deserve.

  • that because He died and rose again, we are offered what His obedience earned, relationship with God.

  • that the only appropriate response to this Good News is that…

    • we believe (accept by faith) who Christ is and what He has done for us,

    • we turn our lives over to Him, acknowledging Him as Lord.

  • that as we respond to God in this way, we receive Christ's righteousness (right standing with God) and are established as His sons and daughters and have the opportunity of relationship with Him.

  • that God has chosen to reveal Himself in several ways to humanity…

    • through creation,

    • by His Holy Spirit, our source of everything we need for life and our guide.

    • in the Bible, the inerrant, authoritative word of God, written by man through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit,

  • that human beings only experience true life as through the work of the Holy Spirit we mature, becoming like Jesus, in our love for God and love for others in obedience to the Father's will.

  • that Jesus has instructed us, His followers, to tell others about Him so that they might have the opportunity to become His followers too.

  • that the Church is a community established and built up by Christ, growing together in Unity, Maturity and Sacrificial Love.
